As a nonprofit, community-owned arts facility, the Long Center operation is designed for a break-even annual budget. Presenting income, ticket sales, and rental fees will provide 75% of annual revenue. The Long Center will rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations — our entire community — to ensure programming excellence, community outreach, and a balanced operating budget.
While ticket sales are important, membership gifts help the Long Center:
- Keep ticket prices reasonable to attract the widest possible audiences
- Present extraordinary, diverse performances, fresh productions, and cutting-edge new work
- Provide a permanent performance home for Austin’s ballet, opera, and symphony
- Offer complimentary tickets to underserved audiences & discounted tickets to students and seniors
- Give over 200 small and emerging performing arts groups access to a world-class performing space
